Chinese in Hawaii and Hawaiians in China: UHH, Wed. UCB 312 5:30-7 PM

This event is at UH Hilo. I will also speak at UH Manoa later.
Don Eads is doing a presentation at UH Hilo in UCB 312 starting at 5:30 PM on
Wednesday, Feb. 11, highlighting the growing connection and history
between China and Hawaii. The presentation will be followed by
discussion/question s. Drop in any time during the presentation.
The room is the big glassed in corner room to the right as you exit
the elevator on the 3rd floor. Hope to see you there! There is plenty
room for everybody. Again, this event is being held at UH Hilo in the
University Classroom Building 312
If you can stop by, it is an ideal time to learn about this area of
CHUS, provide input from your own experiences, and to also meet

Brief Bio:
Don is the first Thesis graduate in China-US Relations. He's the International Coordinator for the Tony Robbins Foundation. Don's currently at the East West Center, UH Manoa. He has lived, traveled and taught at Peking University, the International Academy of Beijing, and other institutions in China since 1999. He is a songwriter/performer, and has been on Magnum PI.

Significant Drought In China: Rainmakers Try

Bankruptcies, unemployment and social unrest are spreading more widely in China than officially reported
Violent unrest rocks China as crisis hits
The collapse of the export trade has left millions without work and set off a wave of social instability. The instability may peak when millions of migrant workers flood back from celebrating the Chinese new year to find they no longer have jobs. That spells political trouble and there are already signs that the government’s $585 billion stimulus package will not be enough to achieve its goal of 8% growth this year.
